WORKING FAMILIES WILL COUNTY PAC BYLAWS
ARTICLE I
The name of this organization shall be Working Families Will County PAC
ARTICLE II
The principal office of Working Families Will County PAC shall be located
2405 Essington Rd, Suite B171, Joliet, IL 60435.
ARTICLE III
Working Families Will County PAC shall be a voluntary, nonprofit corporation.
ARTICLE IV
Working Families Will County PAC's purpose is to elect officials who represent and protect all the
residents of Will County. Working Families Will County PAC's mission is to elect officials who will create a
government for all that represents and protects all the residents of Will County and the cities within.
Working Families Will County PAC will seek, support and promote candidates, groups,
policies, and causes that promise to fight political corruption and promote environmental,
economic growth and social justice for all by returning power to the people.
Working Families Will County PAC, its officers and committees shall possess and may exercise all the
powers and privileges set forth in these Articles or incidental thereto, together with all powers
and privileges necessary or convenient to the conduct, promotion, or attainment of the purposes
of Working Families Will County PAC or these Articles.
ARTICLE V
Full membership is open to all residents of Will County and all other area residents who are
impacted by Will County's political decisions. All members shall have full voting rights.
ARTICLE VI
The officers of Working Families Will County PAC shall be the president, treasurer, and secretary.
They shall be elected by the majority vote of members at the annual meeting.
Their terms of office shall run for one year.
The president shall administer and have general and active management and supervision of all
the affairs of Working Families Will County PAC.
The treasurer shall be the chief financial officer, shall keep the financial and other records of
Working Families Will County PAC, shall comply with all applicable reports required by law, shall file
appropriate state, municipal and federal disclosure, and shall perform such other duties as may
be assigned by the president.
The secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings and distribute the minutes to all members
of Working Families Will County PAC. The secretary shall also notify members of additional meetings.
ARTICLE VII
Working Families Will County PAC shall have an annual meeting to provide for the election of officers and
the amendment of bylaws and twelve monthly meetings. Additional meetings may be held as needed.
Meetings will be conducted according to the most recent edition of Robert’s Rules of Order
unless otherwise decided.
The bylaws may be amended by the majority vote of the members present at the annual
meeting.
ARTICLE VIII
The election of officers and committee chairs will be held annually at the August annual
meeting. All offices will be open and any active member can be nominated for any office.
Nominations shall begin in July and continue until they are closed at the August meeting where
all nominees may give a two minute speech.
Notice for both nominations and the annual meeting must be given to all members at least one
prior meeting date or minimum of 30 days.
If only one member is nominated for each office, the nominees can be voted together in a single
vote at the end of the nominations.
If there is more than one nominee running for the same office, this office will be voted upon
separately, using a secret ballot.
A nominee needs a simple majority of votes to win election to any office.
Only active members are eligible to vote. Members must be active for 60 days prior to the
announced date for the annual meeting to be eligible to vote.
Members must be present to vote.
If more than two elected officers or committee chairs leave in a year span, a special election
shall be called to fill the positions until the next annual election.
ARTICLE IX
Members are required to pay membership dues to remain in good standing. A member will be
considered in good standing so long as they have paid $5.00 for every month they have been a
member. Dues may either be paid in monthly installments of $5.00 or in non-recurring payments
of no less than $50.00. Dues may be waived for any individual member by a vote of the officers.
ARTICLE X
Only members in good standing will have voting rights
at any meeting of Working Families Will County PAC.
Individuals will be considered members in good standing so long as they are current on their
dues and their membership application has been publicly announced and confirmed at a
membership and their membership has not been revoked. New members will not be considered
in good standing until 15 days after their initial dues payment.
ARTICLE XI
An individual’s membership can be revoked by a petition signed by 2/3s of the members in good
standing or by the vote of the majority of the officers. The revoked members lose voting rights
and forfeits currently paid dues. Revoked members can not participate on committees, in
meetings or other activities of the organization.
Revocation of membership by the officers’ vote may be overturned by a majority vote of all the
members in good standing. This vote must take place no later than the next regularly scheduled
membership meeting having at least 20% of the membership in attendance.
If a member has not paid their dues for over three months and not requested a waiver, their
membership will be revoked. However, they may pay all their dues and their membership will
not be revoked.
ARTICLE XII
Working Families Will County PAC may have standing committees.
Chairs of the committees shall be elected by the members.
ARTICLE XIII
Working Families Will County PAC shall be dissolved by the majority vote of its members. If any assets
remain after meeting expenses, the assets shall be donated to the Better Government Association of IL.
